Overview of SAG

How to Apply for 2025-26 SAG

What is the MBA Student Advisory Group (SAG)?

The UW MBA Consortium Student Advisory Group (SAG) was established to amplify student voices and enhance the MBA experience. Comprised of 5 to 7 volunteer students, SAG members help identify educational and extracurricular needs, provide feedback on the MBA student experience, and support program development by offering meaningful, actionable suggestions to administration and faculty.

What is the commitment?

The UW MBA Consortium Student Advisory Group (SAG) is a voluntary commitment that fosters community and connection within an asynchronous online program. The work of SAG members contributes to stronger retention, improved student satisfaction, and greater program distinction in a competitive MBA marketplace.

SAG members serve a one-year term from September through May, participating in eight virtual meetings over the academic year.

Why join the SAG?

As a SAG member, your voice helps shape the future of the UW MBA Consortium experience. You will collaborate directly with the Consortium team to inform program enhancements, advocate for student needs, and strengthen connections and support within the MBA program.

The SAG experience also offers valuable opportunities to network with fellow students, alumni, and prospective students while contributing to the continued growth and reputation of the program. Your perspective matters, and as a SAG member, you serve as a representative of the MBA student body.

How has the SAG helped shape the MBA program?

  • Helped with the launch of the program’s Online Course Resources, including career support, which is now available in the Knowledge Base and in Canvas.
  • Initiated the Student Ambassadors program to strengthen peer connections and enhance prospective student engagement.
  • Provided valuable input for the program’s website redesign by sharing student-centered ideas and feedback.
  • Hosted our first-ever Q&A session with instructional designers to foster dialogue and share student perspectives on the learning experience.
  • Offered insightful student perspectives to help shape recruitment and marketing strategies, as well as the MBA program’s first international experience to Spain and Portugal.
  • Led a SAG Student Panel at the 2025 Annual Faculty Meeting, shaping the agenda by bringing forward key student perspectives and sharing insights on what supports a more humanized online learning experience as well as challenges students continue to face in an asynchronous environment.
  • Initiated the MBA Fundamentals Series in MBA 700 based on SAG conversations that highlighted the need for foundational knowledge, resources to support the transition into the MBA program, and networking opportunities.
  • Contributed to the preliminary revision of the program’s Student Code of Conduct by offering feedback, helping ensure it remains relevant, comprehensive, and aligned with the experiences of MBA students.
  • Showcased real ways UW MBA Consortium students are advancing their careers through video clips of SAG members featured in an upcoming article highlighting how students apply their learning professionally.
