State Authorization

Wisconsin is a SARA state (State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement), and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, as managing partner for the UW MBA Consortium, is a SARA-approved institution.

"The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement is an agreement among member states, districts and territories that establishes comparable national standards for interstate offering of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. It is intended to make it easier for students to take online courses offered by postsecondary institutions based in another state." ( https://nc-sara.org/)

Although California is not a SARA-approved state at this time, UW-Eau Claire may currently accept students from California.

Complaint Process

If a student has a complaint that involves distance learning education offered under the terms and conditions of SARA, the student must file a complaint with the institution first to seek resolution. For students enrolled in distance education through the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, any such complaints must be filed following the policy and procedures outlined at the following link:  https://www.uwec.edu/dean-of-students/complaints-procedures/. If no resolution is reached, then the student may file a complaint with the Wisconsin Distance Learning Authorization Board (DLAB) through the following State Authorization Reciprocity Complaint Process at the following link: https://www.wisconsin.edu/student-complaints/ or by email to afgp@uwsa.edu.

For purposes of this process, a complaint shall be defined as a formal assertion in writing that the terms of this agreement, or of laws, standards or regulations incorporated by the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements Policies and Standards have been violated by the institution operating under the terms of SARA.
